Our School
Care, Honesty, Determination, Respect, Responsibility and AppreciationAbout Lavender

Lavender Vision
Lavender school has a big heart. It takes care of its community and is a warm and welcoming place of learning. The vision we have for our school is built on three key drivers; learning culture, aspiration and values.
Learning culture
We know that by the time children leave us their learning journey has only just begun and that learning takes a lifetime. At Lavender we want to inspire all children to reach beyond their horizons and equip them with the knowledge, skills and understanding to create a lifelong love of learning.
We want all children to be engaged and excited about learning and take pride in their work. Our children will be reflective, resilient and independent with a passion and curiosity for new learning. We aim for every child to know themselves as learners, who are eager to know how to improve, and who capitalise on every opportunity to improve. We will support every child to develop a growth mindset through commitment, determination and resilience. Our learners will be confident enough to ‘have a go’ and understand that they learn from mistakes. Lavender children will collaborate by sharing their learning with each other as well as helping others to learn.
Aspirations
We believe that every child is capable of great things and we aim to unlock this potential in a caring and stimulating environment. We will be ambitious for our pupils, especially those who are disadvantaged, and will not place a ceiling on children’s abilities. We want to make a difference to the lives of our children and will nurture our learners and have a relentless focus on progress.
We will provide a curriculum that is creative, ambitious and rigorous and ensure that children have everything they need to be successful beyond Lavender. Through our curriculum we aim to develop pupils physically, academically and emotionally with an eye on the future and the needs of global citizens. We will encourage the use of environments and expertise beyond the classroom so that learning is filled with rich first-hand purposeful experiences whilst being flexible and responsive to individual needs and interests. We will make meaningful links between areas of knowledge and the major issues of our time and ensure that our learning has local, national and international dimensions.
Values
Our values of respect, care, honesty, responsibility, appreciation and determination will be the moral compass for our community. Our children and staff will care and respect themselves and others as members of a vibrant, diverse and inclusive community. We aim to celebrate those aspects that unite us and also those that make us unique. Our pupils will have positive attitudes towards their learning and the learning of others. Our open culture will actively promote all aspects of pupil and staff welfare to ensure our community feels safe and listened to. We will support the well being and working conditions of our whole staff team to ensure a stable community which fosters personal and professional growth and develops leadership at all levels.
